RDC, a national architecture firm and PDO’s partner studio, believes that the workplace should reflect the spirit of architectural practice while balancing aesthetics, functionality, and purpose. Their new DC Metro office embodies that philosophy, featuring flexible work zones and collaborative spaces that support research, ideation, and direct client engagement. PDO collaborated with RDC on the new space, creating a thoughtful blend of design perspectives that beautifully reflects our shared brand and personality.
The new studio was shaped through close partnership between RDC and PDO, incorporating a hospitality-inspired concept that embraces clarity, brightness, and flow. Floor-to-ceiling windows fill the space with natural light, supporting a versatile layout designed for both focused work and dynamic teamwork. PDO curated a thoughtful blend of materials, finishes, and textures that bring warmth and definition to the studio. Concrete floors, exposed ceilings, tectum panels, and ash wood-look millwork were chosen to celebrate the raw honesty of architectural materials. The result is a welcoming environment that mirrors the way today’s clients and project teams want to work.
