2100 Rio is a 60-acre development constructed on the site of a former landfill. Located at the intersection of major freeways Loop 101 and Loop 202, Rio 2100 offers unparalleled access to the entire valley and is highly desirable for its proximity to Tempe’s urban core and pool of university talent. For the many national corporations looking to establish a footprint in the area, it’s a perfect location.

PDO designed the building’s lobby to reflect the sophisticated environment and attract top-tier tenants. The lobby is modern and sleek, with clean lines and high end finishes, but softened by native plants and natural light. PDO used LED lighting to create special highlights throughout, and the marble walls contribute to the luxe feel. PDO worked in partnership with Butler Design Group and Boyer to provide the development’s most exciting building yet, and by the time construction was completed, it had already attracted multiple Fortune 100 companies.

LED light-strips highlight the stairwells unique architecture while making the platform appear to float.
The LED light strips, interspersed with wood slats, call attention to the double height space and draw the eye upward.
