2026 RED Awards: Office interiors project of the year finalists

March 17, 2026

Each year, AZRE magazine’s RED Awards commemorates the meticulous work accomplished by the teams of companies who shepherd projects of all kinds from initial concept to final delivery. Each category represents the finest the industry has to offer — state-of-the-art education buildings, chic offices spaces, lavish hotels, modern apartments and so much more. PDO’s delivery for Crest Insurance Group was a proud finalist.

Crest Insurance Group

• Developer: Hines
• General contractor: RWI Construction
• Architect: Phoenix Design One
• Subcontractors: Maplewood Cabinetry, Accent Marble & Granite, Mirror Works, Integrity Electrical Services, American Sound
• City: Tempe
• Size: 16,819 square feet

This new office space for Crest Insurance Group moves the company’s Arizona headquarters from the Scottsdale Financial Center to the ninth floor of the landmark 100 Mill building, nearly doubling company’s local metro Phoenix footprint.

Crest’s sophisticated yet welcoming office supports a variety of uses, from flexible workspaces to integrative collaboration points that encourage team interaction. Because Crest employees often need privacy for sensitive client conversations, purpose-built quiet areas were designed specifically for individual conversations.

Acoustic treatments allow employees to focus on their work while maintaining an open, communicative environment. For example, enclosed offices and meeting areas are designed to limit noise and sound transfer. In equally important collaboration areas, white sound, sound masking and acoustical ceiling grids help reduce noise levels to minimize disruptions.

Across the office, lighter wood tones are set against high-contrast black marble, creating a dramatic look that is both friendly and elevated, making users feel like they are enjoying a moment in a hotel lobby versus a sterile office. A mix of natural and artificial lighting is also used to create a bright, energized atmosphere.
